PLAGES DE LA CÔTE OUEST

The beaches of the west coast are among the most beautiful - and coolest! - of the island. Turned towards the sunset, they are particularly splendid at the end of the day. They offer diverse landscapes, from Lithi in the south to Metochi in the north, passing by the turquoise waters of Trachili, Elinta and Tigani. They are often dominated by Genoese watchtowers: built to apprehend enemy attacks, they communicated with the villages of Mastichochoria in case of a raid so that the villagers could take refuge within their walls.
