A 180-meter-long bridge named after millionaire Slobodan Pavlović, linking Bosnia-Herzegovina to Serbia over the Drina River.
This 180 m-long bridge (Pavlovića Ćuprija/Павловића Ћуприја) links Bosnia-Herzegovina to Serbia, spanning the Drina, 11 km northeast of Bijeljina. Completed in 1996, it bears the name of its financier, millionaire Slobodan Pavlović. Born here in 1938, this Bosnian-Serb emigrated to the USA and returned in 1991. He bought up a Bosnian bank and companies, even founding Slobomir ("peace and freedom") University 4 km before the bridge. In 2016, prosecution for money laundering forced him to abandon his plans to create a town on either side of the bridge.
