Tvrđava Ostrožac
This castle (Tvrđava Ostrožac) is superb. Overlooking the Una River, it lies 9 km south of Cazin and 16 km northeast of Bihać. It is, however, very poorly maintained and some parts are in danger of collapsing. And it's not very authentic: created in the 13th century, it was transformed in a pseudo-medieval style in 1900-1906 to serve as a palace for Lothar von Berks, then head of the Bosnian police. Between 1960 and 1990, the castle welcomed artists who left 150 sculptures in the courtyard. A number of panels explain the history of the site.
