CIMETIÈRE DE HAMBARINE

This Muslim cemetery (Šehidski Mezarluci Hambarine/Гробље Мученика Хамбарине) looks like a military square with its 86 nişans lined up in a row. Above all, it evokes the cemetery of the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial. Established in 2019, it houses the remains of 86 Bosnian civilians from the area who were killed by Bosnian Serb police and militia from Prijedor on August 21, 1992. The bodies were found in 2009 at the foot of the Korićani cliffs near Travnik, where more than two hundred Bosniak and Bosnian-Croat prisoners were taken for execution.
