CANAUX DE BUNA

This natural site (Bunski Kanali) is very surprising. At the confluence of the Neretva and the Buna, the two rivers flow along each other for about 100 meters. They are separated by a very resistant wall of calcareous tuff (travertine). While the mighty Neretva is trapped in a narrow straight channel, the waters of the Buna overflow from their own parallel channel and gradually flow into the Neretva in a splendid series of waterfalls whose intensity and location vary with the seasons and rainfall.
