Opening time and information on SLATE MUSEUM
April 1 to October 31: Tuesday to Friday, 1pm to 6pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm. November 1 to March 31: Wednesday, 1pm to 6pm; Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 6pm. Accessible to disabled visitors and wheelchairs. Underground tour: adults €10, seniors >65 & students €8, 12-17 years €6, 4-11 years €4.

The Musée de l'Ardoise Haut-Martelange offers its visitors a return to the region's 200-year-old slate industry past. On a self-guided tour, a guided tour or during creative workshops, discover the slate stone from its origin and its extraction, to its finished product
Don't miss the opportunity to explore the underground world of slate (-12m or -42m)! The museum allows visitors to discover the huge extraction chambers and to immerse themselves in the slate industry of the 1900s. The "Johanna" gallery will take you on a 90min underground tour to a depth of -42m (± 370 steps in total). A modern illumination and audiovisual projections will give you a real insight into the trade and the life of the slate quarrymen of Martelange. Don't forget to wear good closed shoes and to bring a jacket (9°C!)
Then take a refreshing break at the 'Bopebistro' (old-fashioned bistro) or take a ride on the industrial train (depending on the program)

Par contre payer 4 € de parking parce que nous n'étions pas 4 dans le véhicule, qui était une moto. C'est déjà un peu fort mais en plus quand c'est un champ boueux, c'est encore mieux. ????
