Travel Guide Oasis Of Al Ahsa

With more than 3 million palm trees, the oasis of Al Ahsa is the largest oasis in the world. As soon as you leave Al Hofuf, you will be surrounded by endless rows of date palms. The dust that covers the leaves reminds you that the desert is not far away. The best season to go there is between September and December which corresponds to the date harvest. The plots come alive with teams of workers, many of them from southern India, who climb the trees to cut the bunches of dates. In addition to the palm grove, the region has some important tourist sites, such as the mountain of Al Qarah, the Yellow Lake or the very old mosque of Juatha. The oasis of Al Ahsa is on the Unesco World Heritage list.
