FONTANONE DI GORIUDA

The Val Raccolana has several waterfalls, but the Goriuda waterfall is certainly the most scenic. From the parking lot, it takes only five minutes to walk through the woods to reach this waterfall, which springs up after a 600-meter long cave. It is possible to walk around the basin formed by the waterfall, passing behind the water curtain. Its name comes from a local tradition that tells that in the cave lived an orc called Goriuda, probably a deformation of the name Guriuz given to the dwarves of the caves in the Friulian legends.
