CHAMPAGNE DUVAL-LEROY

Winery

Carol Duval-Leroy is part of the very restricted circle of "champagne women". Set in Virtues, she took over this family home following the brutal death of her husband in 1991 and was able to give her an example of finesse and elegance. Without ever resting on his laurels, Carole had to learn to master the work of the vine, whose specific foundations she knew. She driving the house among the greatest names and made Champagne Duval-Leroy a reference. It was in 2000, with the help of its cellar chef, Sandrine Logette Jardin, that it markets the "Lady de Champagne", an alliance of the best chardonnays and the roundness of Pinot Noir, a champagne in the image of this woman to which we give freshness, liveliness and prestige.

CHAMPAGNE MICHEL MAILLIARD

Liquor store

In Vertus, in the heart of the Marne, in an exceptional wine region known as the "Côte des Blancs", lies the 23-hectare family vineyard, now managed by Michel Maillard.

At harvest time, the opulent Chardonnays proudly emerge from the south/south-east exposure and unique chalky soil. A house style handed down from father to son, an ancestral know-how and very high quality grapes contribute to the elaboration of champagnes with a unique minerality and freshness.

As true enthusiasts, Michel Maillard and his son shape their wines to arouse emotion, because the work of a winegrower means knowing how to sublimate the aromas and bowing down when Nature has worked well. An art of living and dreaming that can be found in every bubble!

A beautiful range of exceptional wines to discover: Cuvée Gregory1er Cru, Cuvée Rose Alexia1er Cru, Cuvée Prestige 2010, Cuvée Mont Vergon 2005-2006-2008-2010, L'Oger 2004 or 2007 Grand Cru, Cuvée Blanc de Noirs 2011.

In the wine library, the Cuvée Gregory is available in several years (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2005). The Blanc de Blancs version is also available in 2001. Cuvée Prestige Millésime 2009 and La Justice 1999.

Cuvée du Fondateur: The jewel of the House, made from Chardonnays dating back to 1982, as well as a Ratafia.

The estate also owns:

The magnificent 19th centuryChâteau de Saint-Mard, only 7 minutes from Vertus. An idyllic setting that can be privatized (21, rue de Champagne - 51130 Saint-Mard-lès-Rouffy).

CHAMPAGNE DOYARD

Sale of wines and spirits

Here, we have been winegrowers since 1677 and harvesting and handling for 4 generations. The wines produced on this estate have the particularity of being partially or totally vinified in oak barrels. It is possible to visit all the installations: the press, the vats, the cellar, the cellar, of course, and to discover the different tasks that the winegrower must accomplish in the cultivation of the grape and the elaboration of the champagne: pruning, the lierie, disbudding, trellising, trimming, harvesting, racking, blending, etc. Since 2010, Doyard Champagne has been part of an association called Les Artisans du Champagne, which brings together 16 Champagne winegrowers and craftsmen. Six different vintages are available as well as an excellent ratafia:

Cuvée Vendémiaire brut Premier cru: 4 years of ageing. Chardonnay grape variety (white grapes) 100% exclusively from the Côte des Blancs.

Cuvée Vendémiaire extra-brut Premier cru: 6 years of ageing. Chardonnay grape variety (white grapes) 100% exclusively from the Côte des Blancs.

La Libertine: more than 12 years of ageing. The objective of this cuvée was to get closer to the taste characteristics of sparkling Champagne wines from the early 18th century. Libertine is unique and does not come close to any current champagne.

oeil de Perdrix Grand Cru: this cuvée takes its name from ancient times (18th and early 19th centuries) when the impossibility of artificially "bleaching" the juices of the black grapes led to the production of a Champagne with a colour tainted by an "eye". This one referred to a champagne slightly tinted with pink, like a partridge eye. Origin of the grapes: Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir from Aÿ.

Clos de l'Abbaye Millésime Premier cru 2012: Clos de l'Abbaye comes from a half hectare plot of chardonnay, isolated and planted in 1956. Its location and its very calcareous soil give it a very early ripening period. Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.

Blanc de Blancs 2009 Grand cru: 2009 vintage. Chardonnay grape variety 100% Grands Crus (Mesnil, Oger, Avize, Cramant).

Ratafia: this one is aged 18 months in barrels.

LES VERTUS D'ÉLISE

Winery

The brand name comes from Élise Guyot, who founded the estate in 1920, and whose descendants used the name eight decades later. The Guyot family were keen to pay tribute to their ancestress with the Les Vertus d'Élise range. Naturally, Chardonnay and Blanc de Blancs stand out here, with 85% Chardonnay and a number of emblematic cuvées such as Cuvée Élise, in Premier Cru.
