A top meeting place for Macedonian mountaineers since 1952, this mountain lodge (Планинарски Дом Даре Џамбаз/Planinarski Dom Dare Džambaz) is going through a difficult period. While it still welcomes hikers, tourists and mountaineers in a cafe room, it no longer serves as an accommodation. Due to a conflict between the municipality of Skopje and the Mountaineering Federation of Northern Macedonia, the lodge is awaiting renovation. It is named after Dare Džambaz (1911-1981), former partisan and founder of the Macedonian Red Cross in 1945.
