STRONG PRE-GIROUD
This fort was built from 1937 to 1941 to ward off a possible German invasion through the Jougne pass. Carved out of the rock, it consists of six casemates linked by underground galleries. Outside, three autonomous forts are open to visitors. With the help of mannequins, the museum evokes the life of the fort during the war: engine room, protected area for two hundred men, infirmary, kitchen... All this equipment was never used, as Switzerland managed to preserve its neutrality throughout the conflict. Catering on site.
