What is special about this 18-hole golf course? It is played on sand. It is located near the airport, making it easily accessible to travelers in transit! The airport provides transportation and issues transit visas to allow for a round. The sand courses are made from a mixture of oil and compressed sand that forms a green with a grass-like surface. The 18-hole, 6,136-metre course is considered one of the largest desert courses in the world, with the front nine surrounding an archaeological site.
