The famous castle of the Downton Abbey series has not really been transformed for the shooting: you walk around the superb library, the dining room and the bedrooms as if you were one of the characters. The Carnavon family still lives there. In the basement, you don't see the kitchens from the series, but an exhibition of Egyptian antiquities: Lord Carnarvon was a patron of Howard Carter's excavation campaigns, who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun. Don't miss a stroll in the garden and a Pimm's at the refreshment bar!

superbe château, richement décoré
parc gigantesque avec des arbres immenses
visite non guidée, mais non limitée dans le temps
photos impossibles à l'intérieur ce qui est normal
