CRAIGIEVAR CASTLE

A masterpiece of Scottish baronial architecture, this fairytale castle was built in 1626 for the merchant Forbes, known as Danzig Willie. It is world-famous for its ceilings, chiselled wood panels and collections of superb artefacts. Visits to the interiors are by guided tour and in English only. Depending on how much time you have, extend your walk in the beautifully landscaped park surrounding the castle. Several itineraries and paths invite you to discover its surroundings.
