Wheeler Peak, located in the heart of the Carson National Forest, is the highest point in the state at 13,000 feet (4,013 meters)
A great attraction for avid hikers. Wheeler Peak is the highest point in the state at 15,000 feet. In the heart of the Carson National Forest, we advise you to start from Taos Ski Valley if you want to climb its summit. Beware, the climb is reserved for relatively experienced climbers. From the top, you will be able to admire a very beautiful view of the surroundings, above the surrounding forest. Attention, the path is not necessarily accessible under the snow. We recommend, in more the access is free.
