TIVOLI PARK
A remarkable public square with playground and monumental statue at the foot of the Rebberg, ideal for a break in Mulhouse
More than a hundred years old, this public square of almost 6,000 m² at the foot of the Rebberg offers a welcome break at the entrance to the town. Next to a legendary ginkgo tree and a playground for toddlers is the famous "Schweissdissi", a monumental statue of a worker resting on his tool. In 1906, the sculpture was placed in the center of Reunion Square. A scandal! It showed its buttocks to all passers-by and disturbed public morality. It was therefore moved to the Tivoli park, where its modesty is respected as it turns towards the groves.
