BOLLWERK TOUR
Listed as a historic monument under the name Tour des Cochons, it features a fresco depicting the attack on Mulhouse.
It's one of the last vestiges of the wall that protected this part of the town. In fact, Mulhouse is sometimes referred to as the Cité du Bollwerk. It was listed as a historic monument in 1898 under the name of Tour des Cochons, due to its proximity to the slaughterhouses. It is decorated with a fresco, painted in 1893 by the painter Ferdinand Wagner, depicting the attack on Mulhouse by the knight Malterer in 1385, and restored in the 1970s by Bernard Latuner, a Mulhouse painter. Since 2006, the tramway has passed right by the tower.
