Lagar Oliveira da Serra, near the Herdade do Marmelo, allows you to discover the whole process of olive oil extraction.

The Oliveira da Serra olive oil press is located near the Herdade do Marmelo. Portuguese architect Ricardo Bak Gordon designed the futuristic-looking building that houses its headquarters. During your visit, you'll be accompanied by a guide who will explain the entire extraction process for this product of a thousand virtues. You'll learn, for example, that between 4 and 10 kg of olives are needed to make one liter. You'll also stop off at the Marmelo dam, part of the Alqueva project.
