Its aim is to promote and develop free-pace running. Today, CALG has around 100 members, 80 of whom have already run a marathon. The club has taken part in numerous national events, including the Paris, Lyon and New York marathons, as well as legendary races such as Marseille/Cassis. CALG also organizes sporting events such as the "Foulées du Val d'Arroux" and the "Tour du Canton". In 2005, the club created the "Marathon du Charolais". The CALG also offers relay races over several days, with distances of up to 550 km. The CALG is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
