An impressive dolmen, a table weighing almost 50 tonnes and standing 3 metres high in the middle of nature at Carlingford.

Located on the southern Cooley Peninsula near Dundalk Bay, this impressive table weighing almost 50 tonnes stands 3 metres high in the open countryside. The dolmen, which is thought to date back to 3,500 BC, has a legend that anyone who can throw a pebble at the capstone without it falling off will get their wish. It's up to you to try! Anyway, Proleek is one of the most beautiful examples of dolmen in Ireland. It takes about 30 minutes to visit the site.
