The Retaj is only a short distance from the centre of Moroni. It is one of the few hotels in the country likely to host foreign heads of state or dignitaries. Moreover, the establishment is mainly dedicated to satisfying the business and international organization clientele that still constitutes the bulk of tourism in the Comoros. It does so with more or less success... the setting, facing the sea (but unfortunately without a beach) is rather relaxing and allows you to enjoy the sunsets quietly. The rooms offer all the modern comforts: you will enjoy a hot shower after several days of wandering around the island. The Internet works well (and all the time, which is a luxury!) and the generator effectively compensates for the many power cuts. Nevertheless, it must be admitted that the somewhat formal and cold atmosphere lends itself more to the organisation of events than to holidays.
