Every year, on Carnival Sunday, Sant Fruitós de Bages organises its Rice Festival, a large popular meal featuring parades, castells, giant dances and sardanas. The opportunity to taste a delicious paella concocted outdoors for nearly 3,000 people! This celebration has its origins in past times when it was customary to organize a large meal for the poor just before Lent.
