SOUQ AL ZAL

Souq Al Zal is one of Riyadh's oldest traditional markets. It is located in the narrow streets of the old Diriyah district, close to the city of Turaïf. It takes its name from the geometrically patterned Saudi carpets. The narrow alleys are brimming with souvenirs and antiques. The atmosphere is delightfully fragrant. Every day at 6 p.m., an auction is held where traders sell old coffee pots, swords and small objects from the past. On Fridays, the auction takes place in the main square.
