PAJŠTÚN CASTLE (PAJŠTÚNSKY HRAD)

By bus from Bratislava, from Nový most (New Bridge), take bus 37 to the Záhorská Bystrica terminus. Then take the blue marked path to Marianka and the red marked path through Borink to Pajštún (1h30). Ruins of a Gothic castle dating from the 13th century. In 1810, it was destroyed by Napoleonic troops. It offers a magnificent view of the Carpathians, Devin (and its castle) and you can even see the Alps on a clear day.
