For those who will not be able to realize the trek of Salkantay, but want to approach the mythical summit, you can opt for an excursion to the Humantay lake. Departure around 4:30 am to reach Mollepata. From Soraypampa, which is reached by car, you can see and photograph the glaciers of Salkantay (6,271 m.n.s.m) and Humantay (5,250 m.n.s.m). A 3 km uphill walk leads to the lagoon, about 1h30. We can then border this turquoise lake, the virgin landscapes are splendid. Breakfast, lunch included. Return to Cusco at the end of the afternoon.
