Sancho-machi is a charming district, lined with many old tea houses, which offers a journey through time to visitors, finding themselves, for a moment, in the middle of the Edo period. The alignment of these old houses, very well preserved, gives the place a pleasant and slightly timeless atmosphere. The city of Obama having maintained close links with Kyoto, one feels in this district the influence of the former capital.
