SHAIKH SALMAN BIN AHMED AL FATEH FORT
Fort housing a contemporary pavilion with a small museum, with a splendid view of the Hunanaiyah Valley
Built in 1812, the fort was named after its founder, the son of Emir Al Khalifa, the founder of the present dynasty. The fortress was the heart of power until 1869, when it was moved to Muharraq. Some sources suggest that the forts were built on the ruins of a Persian outpost. Long abandoned, the fort is currently being restored. But it's worth stopping by to admire the walls or the magnificent view over the Hunanaiyah valley.
