DUNA DOS INGLESES

The Ingleses dunes are mountains of sand formed by the action of the wind. They form a major part of the Praia dos Ingleses landscape. Smaller than the Duna de Joaquina, they are nonetheless aesthetically pleasing and ideal for walking. They offer a totally different view of Santinho Inglese and the Conceição lagoon, and of the whole northern part of the island. On the Dunes des Ingleses, the sport is sandboarding, a kind of sand skiing. On sunny days, it's possible to rent boards and try your hand at sandboarding!
