A large river near Saint-Joseph offering a variety of activities such as kayaking, canyoning, rafting...

The island's largest river flows into the sea some ten km north of the town of Roseau, near Saint-Joseph. Kayaking, canyoning, rafting down rapids... There's no shortage of activities! Be careful, though, as the rocks along the riverbank are very slippery, and the rapids very powerful. The descent is not recommended for beginners, and a guide is advisable even for the initiated. Continue towards the old dam: a small hot-water pool and a narrow sandbank invite you to picnic and swim.
