THE CLOSE CITY

It is the old medieval center of Altafulla, once fortified, protected by walls that were recovered and used as foundations for the construction of houses during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, but whose layout can still be appreciated today. In fact, the vast majority of the houses that can be seen in the " vila closa " (historical and artistic heritage) date from the 18th century. The Placeta is also a main element of the old town, where the sea can be seen in the distance through the old gate of the wall.
