Wine estates Taurasi

Founded in the early 1990s, this family-run cantina has won numerous awards and prizes. It produces an excellent range of wines, from Taurasi DOCG to table wine. A tour of the estate takes you down into vaulted cellars dug up to 12 metres deep. This is where the barrels are kept. There is also a small museum of the farming tradition, with a centuries-old press and various old tools. It is possible to book a wine tasting with cheese and salted meats from the region.

The estate is managed with passion by Milena Pepe, a young Belgian who, after studying oenology and viticulture in France, took over the family vineyard in Irpinia. Since then, it has been a real success story: 70 hectares of vineyards (and 11 hectares of olive trees), 500,000 bottles of wine per year and various international awards. The sales outlet is open every day and the TenutaCavalierPepeorganizes wine tastings, including several DOC and DOCG, and guided tours of the vineyard and the cantina in French.
