A place of pilgrimage and religious retreat, at the very summit of the eponymous Serra, now open to visitors.

The sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Piedade is located at the very summit of the eponymous Serra, and offers magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding area from its churches. Built in 1797 and enlarged in 1856, it was decorated by the master of Brazilian Baroque art, Aleijadinho. This place of pilgrimage and religious retreat is equipped to receive visitors: restaurant, hotel, but also a "spiritual path", with several churches, including the Ermida do Padroeira.
