CRISTO REY WATERFALLS

Cristo Rey is a rural village on the banks of the Macal River. It's only a few hours' drive from San Ignacio, where you can take a dip in this lovely pool of crystal-clear water with its surprising reflections. A walk well worth the detour. Known as Shower Falls and Monkey Falls to the locals, these natural pools derive their beautiful color from a natural spring which then filters the water through sand and sediment, forming the magnificent pool at the bottom.
