BENQUE SEMANA SANTA

During Holy Week, the streets of the small Guatemalan border town of Benque Viejo del Carmen are covered with a carpet of coloured sawdust, over which processions depicting the Passion of Christ take place. A traditional Central American festival, full of color and lively music. English-speaking Belize takes on its most Latin facet on this occasion.
