BARA AHNIK TEMPLE
There are only two architectural examples of this type of three-bedroom temple across Bangladesh. Built on a platform, the Bara Ahnik temple is entirely covered with terracotta tiles. Its singularity lies in its roofs. The central part is surmounted by a curved roof with two slopes, while the two rooms that surround it are topped with a four-slope roof, making them resemble huts. Each hut is pierced by an entrance and the central body is topped with a triple arch to the two beautifully shaped pillars.
Another temple stands at the entrance to the site, the Little Temple of Govinda dedicated to Krishna. Surmounted by a four-slope roof, its main breakthrough in a triple arch, facing the south.
These two temples have been completely restored but unfortunately the site is closed and you will have to find the guard to access it.
