Birisiri is a small, quiet village in the north of the country, only a few kilometres from the Indian border. Located in the divergence of the Someshwari and Shaneswar rivers, it hosts a large community of Garo, as evidenced by the numerous churches. The Hajong reside across the river Shaneswar in the village of Durgapur. They remained in the history of the region to rebelled against the heavy taxes imposed by the British first, then the Pakistanis. If there are no tourist sites properly, a shipment at Birisiri guarantees you a quiet time and over time.
