Castle built at the request of Corradino in Bobbio.
Malaspina Castle was built in 1304 at the request of Corradino Malaspina. For many years, it was a stronghold of Ghibelline politics. When the town came under the protection of the Visconti family, the castle became the residence of the Podestà (the town's chief magistrate), before being ceded as a fief to the Dal Verme family. Transformed into a luxury residence, it was bought by other noble families until it became public property in 1956. Today, you can also sleep here. From the castle, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the town and the mountains.
