BASSIN-BLEU
Arriving at Grand-Fond, it is necessary to go down a car and continue on foot, for about thirty minutes, along a trail that passes through - literally - an abandoned house built in the middle of the road.
The waterfall in Bassin-Bleue comes from the Petite Rivière de Cabaret. It actually feeds three basins, one of which qualifies as Bassin-Bleue and the other two Basins-Kernel and Bassin-Claire. It is by far the most spectacular, because located at the foot of the fall. It is also the least easy to access: You have to climb a ladder of wood and then go down a few feet of rope to reach it.
It's better to equip yourself with walking shoes and keep in mind that some portions of the walk may be a little sensitive for people who are prone to vertigo and that the end of the journey can be a little physical for the less sporty. The young guides that will accompany you will, however, be able to take care of you to overcome these obstacles.
