The Sands has single and double rooms with sea view as well as one and two bedroom villas with private pool and whirlpool, all with sea view. The company that runs The Sands is the same as the one that runs the Kono Kono Hotel, which is a benchmark for hotels in Zanzibar. Among the activities on offer, you can go diving with Bucaneer Diving or surfing with Aquaholics Surfing School. Otherwise, you can just enjoy the beach, the pool or sip a good cocktail at the beach bar.

Was looking forward to my trip with my family to Zanzibar and staying at this resort, but then the day before our trip I was notified of a family member in the hospital and that they were going to die. We immediately canceled our trip to travel to the United States to be with the family member and we were fortunate to make it just in time before they passed. We attempted to work with the resort to see about getting a refund, or credit, to book a future reservation. However they were unable to do so and could only provide credit for the additional amenities we purchased. It's truly disappointing that during such difficult times, and one of the worst time of my life, businesses cannot do the right thing. I understand that people attempt to use these types of events as excuses, but I can provide all appropriate documentation. Not only did I lose a close family member, but I lost a lot of money on this trip, all the additional flights to go home, and lost faith in this resort.

Resort incroyable après plusieurs semaines de recherches et au vu des avis nous avons choisi le sand resort, nous ne regrettons pas, villa magnifique propre et spacieuse, ménage fait 2 fois par jour !! Un plaisir après les journées d'excursions de retrouver un lieu calme et fleuri, plage en face à couper le souffle. Le petit dej et repas variés et délicieux. Enfin le personnel souriant et serviable, à chaque souci la solution immédiate. MERCI POUR CES VACANCES INOUBLIABLES

Facilities are sufficient for holiday requirements and you have everything you need here in one place. The rooms are very spacious and well maintained with a lovely ambience.
The staff was the highlight of the experience. They truly make you feel a part of their family. This part of the experience cannot be overstated.
The food was fantastic and very authentic and the kitchen staff interacted well with the patrons for a lovely personal touch. I would list individual members, but the list would be too long. A facility and experience like this, cannot exist without great management and of that Ally was a grand example.
We hope to return again and would recommend this as a holiday location for anyone looking to visit Zanzibar.
