With 5,374 inhabitants, Peel is the third largest city on the island and certainly the most exotic. Its wide Victorian seafront precedes narrower alleys of colourful cottages and the territory's main fishing port. It is also the only place to find a cathedral in Man, however small it may be. But the emblematic building of the city is this huge ruined fortress on St. Patrick's Island. Do not hesitate to walk around it to contemplate the immensity of the uninterrupted horizon. For other magnificent panoramas, you will have to reach Corrin's Tower, on the heights overlooking the village. The coastal paths that lead to Port-Erin are among the most breathtaking in the area, with jagged cliffs and rocky peaks challenging the Irish Sea. Walk along the Glen Maye and Cronk ny Arrey Laa, a proud peak if ever there was one. At the crossroads of the A27 and the A36, the site known as the Round Table announces the path to South Barrule. It is the highest hill in the South, topped with the remains of an old fort. Due to its advanced western position, Peel is also a privileged spot where you can admire the sunset. It is not for nothing that it is sometimes called Sunset City....
