Lucira is a fishing village located less than 200 km from the town of Namibe and just over 100 km from Benguela. It is the northernmost coastal municipality in the province of Namibe.Surrounded by mountains and high cliffs, Lucira is a cul-de-sac. We don't go along the road along the coast, you choose to go. Round-trip from the main road takes only a few minutes by car to the sea by a parade. Spending one night or two in Lucira allows you to discover another Angola. The freshwater problems are severe, however. The inhabitants are supplied by tanker truck. Small practical info: Movicel is the only mobile phone network that works. Unitel doesn't go at all. Several grocery stores. In addition to a more ancient fuel repository in the village, a modern service station was opened on the main road at the branch line towards Lucira. It will certainly not take many years before tourism is developed in Lucira. Upgrading the Lucira-Benguela highway is the key.
