CHURCH OF NOSSA SENHORA DO PÓPULO

This remarkable building is loaded with history. This church would be the first stone and lime construction of the city and all southern Angola, cited as an architectural example in Southern Africa. It is also here that slaves were baptized before they were boarded for a journey without return. The church of Nossa Senhora do Pópulo is classified as a National Historic Monument.
