QUEDAS DE RUACANA
Site with 120 m high waterfalls, located near the Ondjiva border and accessible by 4x4 on the Angolan side.
The Ruacana Falls form a series of cascades and rapids on the border between Angola and Namibia. Access to the falls, which are 120 meters high and 700 meters wide in the rainy season, is much easier on the Namibian side via Santa Clara. The site is very close to the border. A 4x4 vehicle in good condition is recommended on the Angolan side. Since the inauguration of the Calueque dam, the water flow has diminished considerably. In 2020, after a year of drought, the water started flowing again. We recommend visiting during the rainy season.
