CAMBAMBE DAM
Hydroelectric power station built over 4 years at Waka Kungo, benefiting from excellent examples of modern power from the 1960s.
This hydroelectric plant has been supplying electricity to the capital Luanda since 1962. In 2015, the elevation of the dam and the construction of a second hydroelectric power station boosted production, improving the energy supply to the country's northern region. Although it is not possible to access the dam, it is nonetheless worthwhile to explore the site, in particular to appreciate some of the buildings, excellent examples of the modern trend of the 1960s. You'll be surprised to discover the remains of tanks at the bend in the road.
