MAYOMBE FOREST
Maiombe forest in the north of the province, home to primate species and fast-growing trees up to 50 m high.
The Mayombe forest is located in the north of the province, bordering on Congo-Brazzaville and the DRC, and extends as far as southern Gabon. In Angola, it covers an area of 290,000 hectares. This low-altitude rainforest, made up of numerous species of fast-growing trees, often exceeding 50 m in height, is Cabinda's biggest tourist attraction. This is the "kingdom of wood"! Interesting wildlife too, with several species of primate, elephants and many, many birds.
