A visit to this museum is an hour-long "cultural journey" through ethnography, animal husbandry, agriculture, hunting, traditional metallurgy, fishing, pottery, ceramics, basketry, weaving and religion. The museum is housed in the beautiful 18th-century Casa Nobre, a listed historic monument. Its owner was a slave trader, whose slaves were parked and shipped from the Casa Nobre. A painful reminder of those times.

très intéressant si accompagné d'un guide
très intéressant si accompagné d'un guide. Le mien était doué pour expliquer (en portugais avec le guide du tour opérateur traduisant en anglais si nécessaire) les us et coutumes des tribus locales, y compris les aspects religieux et culturels. Possibilité d'entendre des instruments de musique locaux
