ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE
"Flying Doctors" offering medical care for people living in remote areas of Australia.
Based at Port Augusta airport, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) provides 24-hour emergency medical care to people living in remote areas of Australia. Doctors and nurses fly across the Outback to respond to emergencies and provide primary care. This operational base is not open to the public, but it is possible to catch a glimpse of the medical aircraft from the airport runway, between vital missions to isolated communities.
