Between Toktogul and KaraKul, the road runs through the artificial lake, and offers sumptuous landscapes where you are tempted to stop to plant its yurt. The city, which almost all inhabitants work at the dam, is not unbearable but does not really have any interest. The KaraKul dam is the largest of the five dams retaining the waters of the Naryn River: Fourteen years of construction, 215 m high and 115 m wide. Several other dams are currently under construction on the river, which greatly contributes to the dust and the chaos of roads in this sector, submerged by the trucks of the yards. Past KaraKul, the road runs along the Naryn in narrow and deep gorges; the waters, retained by another downstream dam, are mounted, drowning the old road that sometimes appears on the opposite shore. The relief then eased when the road sunk into the Kyrgyz Ferghana by passing Tachkomur and then spinning to Jalalabad and Osh. If your final destination is Lake Sary Chelek, please drop in the Avtovagzal Avtovagzal.
