ST. PETER'S CATHEDRAL

After the laying of the foundation stone by Bishop Gerald Trower in 1903, this immense cathedral (the third largest in Africa) was inaugurated in 1905 and completed by Bishop Thomas Cathrew Fisher in 1911. Local granite, bricks, wood, lime and cement were imported from the continent. The soil under the altar was brought from Jerusalem. Admire the beautiful stained glass windows and precise stonework. Ask permission to climb the tower for spectacular views. On Sundays, the beautiful singing of the choir is an unforgettable experience.
