In Saint Paul, 210 km northeast of the provincial capital, you will find a northern curiosity: a UFO landing zone has been waiting, again and again, for visitors from elsewhere since its construction in 1967. St. Paul Visual Arts Centre, St. Paul Historical Museum, People's Museum Society, and the Mannawanis Friendship Centre are the city's main attractions. With a population of about 6,000, numerous farms and oil and gas businesses, the town is attracting more and more visitors. A little further along, at the end of Highway 28, Cold Lake is a city of 14,000 people and the largest Canadian fighter aircraft base, close to a military base of course.
